Hummus Recipe-How To Make?

Hummus recipe is one of the most beautiful appetizers prepared from boiled chickpeas with the contribution of olive oil, tahini and freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Ingredients for Hummus Recipe;

  • 2 cups of water (250 g) (preferably ram’s head)
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda (to taste)
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 lemon
  • 1/2 cup of tahini (90-100 ml)
  • 1/2 tea glass olive oil
  • 1 dessert spoon
  • 1.5 tsp salt

For the above:

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon powdered red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of chickpeas

Preparation of;

Soak chickpeas 1 night or at least 4-5 hours before. Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda to the water to make it easier to digest and cook. The next day, drain the water and rinse again. Take the chickpeas into the pan, add water and leave to cook. It will be cooked in a normal steel pot for about 45 minutes. After the chickpeas are softened, remove from the heat. Separate 1-2 tablespoons to serve on hummus. Meanwhile, add tahini, olive oil, cumin and salt in a bowl. Add the juice of the lemons. Finally, finely chop the garlic, add them and mix well. After boiling, drain the water and pull the chickpeas with the tahini mixture you prepared in the food processor until they get a smooth consistency. If the food processor is difficult, add olive oil or water gradually to reach the desired consistency. Then, take it on a serving plate and draw a circle in the middle with a dessert spoon. Sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons of chickpeas on the edge. Bon Appetit!
